Abidjan, June 30, 2026 – Endeavour Mining, a prominent player in the gold industry, has announced a substantial infusion of 1,710 billion FCFA into the Ivorian economy between 2021 and 2025. This impressive figure includes 644 billion FCFA directed to the state through taxes, royalties, and dividends, as detailed in its inaugural Country Impact Report dedicated to Côte d’Ivoire.
The report, aptly titled « Créer de la valeur tangible » (Creating Tangible Value), was unveiled on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Endeavour Mining’s headquarters in Cocody. It meticulously outlines the achievements of the Ity and Lafigué mines across key areas: economic contribution, community development, and environmental stewardship.
During the report’s presentation, Laetitia Gadegbeku-Ouattara, Vice President of Public Affairs and Country Director for Endeavour in Côte d’Ivoire, highlighted how the Ity and Lafigué operations have transformed gold into a genuine catalyst for sustainable development over the past five years. She underscored the group’s unwavering commitment to fostering a partnership built on mutual trust, transparency, and shared progress, vital for the nation’s ongoing growth and the broader African economy today.
Breaking down the 644 billion FCFA contributed to the state, she specified that 398 billion stemmed from taxes, 149 billion from royalties, and 97 billion from dividends. Furthermore, the company reported allocating 904 billion FCFA to procure goods and services from national suppliers, significantly bolstering local businesses.
Endeavour proudly employs over 1,350 individuals, with 94% being Ivorian nationals. The company’s extensive network also encompasses collaborations with 4,390 service providers and more than 600 local suppliers. This makes Endeavour a crucial contributor to the country’s public revenues and solidifies its position as Côte d’Ivoire’s leading gold producer, a key story in West Africa news.
In the realm of public health, Ms. Gadegbeku-Ouattara noted that over 120,000 people have benefited from the company’s and its foundation’s initiatives in prevention, screening, and access to healthcare. Notably, Health Caravans provided free consultations and treatments to nearly 4,000 individuals, while 64 patients underwent free cataract surgeries. Dr. Youssouf Koné, Departmental Health Director of Zouan-Hounien, affirmed the critical support Endeavour’s partnership provides in the fight against malaria for communities residing near the Ity mine.
Educational programs by Endeavour between 2021 and 2025 reached over 4,000 children and young people, complemented by practical internships for 842 students. Key human capital development initiatives include « Élites de Demain » (Tomorrow’s Elites), « Jeunes Filles en Scolarité » (Girls in School), and « Pépites d’Or » (Gold Nuggets).
The report also detailed an investment exceeding 2.8 billion FCFA in vital community infrastructure. These funds facilitated 71 projects for access to potable water and enhanced security, the rehabilitation of 16 roads benefiting over 360,000 people, the implementation of 10 rural electrification projects, and the provision of 1,000 driving licenses to boost youth professional integration.
Economically, over 3,000 individuals benefited from 284 income-generating initiatives, funded with 487 million FCFA, with a specific focus on empowering women and youth. The « N’Goto Yetehe » program, for instance, provided vocational training to 63 young people across eight trades in Lafigué.
Environmentally, Endeavour’s efforts between 2021 and 2025 included planting over 158,000 trees and protecting or restoring 199 hectares of land. Notable actions feature the « Un enfant, un arbre » (One Child, One Tree) program conducted with schools, alongside the restoration of 125 hectares of classified forests in partnership with SODEFOR. The company also proudly reported that its « Vers Zéro Plastique » (Towards Zero Plastic) strategy led to the elimination of over 1.3 million single-use plastic bottles, marking a remarkable 99% reduction in three years.
The Côte d’Ivoire Impact Report for 2021-2025 was presented to the host communities of the Ity and Lafigué mines. Attendees included administrative and territorial authorities, customary leaders, as well as representatives from youth and women’s groups, and mining project steering committees.
