The recent visit to Rabat by the British Minister of State for International Trade, Chris Bryant, has cemented a significant advancement in the relationship between the United Kingdom and the Kingdom of Morocco. This progress is built upon a shared vision of strategic partnership and enhanced cooperation.
London identifies Morocco as a prime destination for economic growth. During his stay on Tuesday, Chris Bryant revealed an ambitious plan to double the current volume of bilateral trade over the next five to seven years.
Following discussions with Nasser Bourita, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Bryant noted that trade between the two nations currently stands at approximately £4.5 billion. He expressed a firm commitment to seeing this figure double within the decade.
The British minister also conveyed the United Kingdom‘s eagerness to act as a strategic partner for Morocco in the preparation of major international athletic events, specifically the 2030 World Cup. To support this goal, Bryant was accompanied by a delegation of fifty companies specializing in the management and organization of global sporting spectacles.
This visit coincides with the Morocco-UK Business Forum, held on June 2 and 3, 2026. Additionally, both nations are preparing to convene for the fourth session of the Morocco-UK Association Council to further deepen their ties.
