The National Bureau of Land Freight of Chad (BNFT), along with freight authorities in Cameroon and the Central African Republic, formalized a landmark digitalization pact on May 12, aiming to transform Central African trade corridors by 2030.
This groundbreaking agreement is designed to overhaul cross-border goods transport and transit, streamlining commercial exchanges across the subregion. By implementing advanced digital systems, the three nations seek to create a more efficient, secure, and transparent framework for managing transit procedures.
Saleh Youssouf Erda, BNFT’s Director General, emphasized the transformative potential of this initiative in today’s digital-first economy. « This pact marks a pivotal step toward modern logistics and faster digitalization of our trade routes. In an era where digital solutions drive progress, this initiative will secure goods and streamline operations like never before, » he stated.
On his part, the Central African Republic’s representative for the Ministry of Transport highlighted the collaborative effort behind the agreement. « Years of dialogue between stakeholders culminated in this solution, which will drastically cut administrative delays and ensure tighter security for shipments—a cornerstone of trust in regional trade, » he explained.
This pact aligns with broader efforts to modernize Central Africa’s transport corridors, fostering deeper economic integration and smoother trade flows between participating states.
