During a bilateral meeting at the State House in Nairobi, Kenyan President William Ruto commended the longstanding ties between Kenya and Chad, highlighting Chadian leader Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno’s pivotal contributions to international security and the successful outcome of the Africa Forward Summit.

Following discussions with his Chadian counterpart, President Ruto emphasized that the two nations share a robust diplomatic partnership “built on shared values, mutual respect, and African solidarity.” He underscored their joint commitment to advancing “the interests of African people, the continent’s progress, and global cooperation.”

President Ruto also praised Chad’s involvement in the UN-backed Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti, noting that the country’s involvement strengthens international efforts to restore “peace, stability, and hope” in the Caribbean nation.

The Kenyan leader extended his gratitude to the Chadian President for Chad’s “substantial role” in ensuring the Africa Forward Summit’s success. Held in Nairobi this week, the event brought together African and international partners to redefine economic, political, and security cooperation frameworks.
