Paris Saint-Germain has finalized its first summer transfer by accepting an offer from AC Milan for Gonçalo Ramos. The Portuguese striker, who spent three seasons with the Parisians and secured 12 trophies—including back-to-back Champions League titles—will now join the Italian club on a permanent deal until 2031. His departure leaves a significant gap in PSG’s attack, prompting an urgent search for a replacement.
Paris considers Folarin Balogun as potential successor
With the need to reinforce their striking department, PSG is reportedly eyeing Folarin Balogun, the prolific scorer from AS Monaco. Last season, the American international netted 19 goals in 43 appearances, showcasing his lethal finishing. His performances at the recent World Cup in the USA further solidified his reputation, making him a prime target for Luis Campos’ transfer strategy. Balogun’s familiarity with Ligue 1—having previously played for Reims—adds to his appeal as a seamless fit for the French capital.
AS Monaco may consider letting Balogun go
While PSG has yet to make a formal move, AS Monaco’s financial constraints could accelerate the transfer. After missing out on Champions League qualification, the Monegasque club has placed three players on the market: Folarin Balogun, Lamine Camara, and Maghnes Akliouche. PSG is already monitoring all three, but Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are also in the race for Balogun’s signature. Should the deal materialize, PSG could achieve a double coup by potentially signing two Monaco talents in one transfer window.
