Why the Paris Saint-Germain vs Lens match won’t be on Ligue 1+

The highly anticipated clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Lens could decide the Ligue 1 title this season. Under Luis Enrique’s leadership, the Parisians face a must-win scenario at 21:00 CET on Wednesday in Artois, a match that might secure their 14th championship before the season finale. The outcome could also lift the suspense ahead of their UEFA Champions League final against Arsenal on May 30.
Fans hoping to stream the game live on Ligue 1+ will need to switch to beIN Sports instead.
A scheduling shift that altered broadcast rights
This midweek showdown was originally scheduled for Saturday, April 11, at 17:15 CET, a time slot traditionally reserved for beIN Sports’ Ligue 1 coverage. Paris Saint-Germain, however, had a packed schedule with Champions League quarter-final fixtures against Liverpool on April 8 and 14, requiring three matches—including two away games—within a single week. The club successfully secured a postponement from the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP).
Despite the date change, beIN Sports retained the broadcasting rights for the match as originally assigned. This decision means that even with the rescheduling, the Qatar-based network continues to hold exclusive rights to the game.
If Paris Saint-Germain triumph in Lens, they will claim their 14th Ligue 1 title. Otherwise, they will have to wait until the final matchday against Paris FC, while Lens takes on Lyon. With a six-point lead, however, the suspense for PSG is nearly over.
