The Chadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its spokesperson Ibrahim Adam Mahamat, has categorically refuted over the weekend allegations of a plot to destabilize the Central African Republic (CAR) allegedly orchestrated by authorities in N’Djamena.

Chadian diplomacy described these claims as part of a deliberate disinformation campaign aimed at tarnishing Chad’s reputation and undermining its diplomatic ties with its neighbor, the CAR.

In a strongly worded statement, the ministry condemned what it termed «deceptive maneuvers» and urged those spreading such rumors to act responsibly. It also called on media outlets and social media users to rely solely on verified facts rather than speculative narratives.

The Chadian government reiterated its unwavering stance, emphasizing that «Chad has never been, is not, and will never be involved in any subversive activity targeting a neighboring state.» This declaration underscores the country’s commitment to regional stability and respect for sovereignty.

President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno has consistently prioritized the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and non-interference, asserting that Chad’s stability is intrinsically linked to that of the broader Sahel region. The country’s diplomatic stance reflects its dedication to fostering peace and cooperation across Africa.

Chad frequently faces accusations from other Central and East African nations regarding its alleged involvement in supporting various armed groups beyond its borders. Recent scrutiny has centered on claims linking Chad to the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which have been engaged in conflict with the Sudanese Armed Forces since April 15, 2023.
