The judicial process involving Succès Masra has officially opened within the chambers of the Supreme Court in Chad. Although the leader of Les Transformateurs was not physically present for the start of the hearing, he is being represented by a dedicated team of defense attorneys who are now engaging with the court’s leadership.
Heightened security and restricted access
The area surrounding the Supreme Court has been placed under a strict security lockdown. A massive deployment of police officers, gendarmes, and nomadic guards has taken control of the main thoroughfares and the primary roundabout leading to the institution. This heavy military and police presence has effectively cordoned off the judicial site from the general public.
Access to the trial has been severely restricted. Both local and international journalists were ordered to leave the site shortly after the proceedings began. Furthermore, the head of the CNDH antenna was blocked from entering the premises by the commander of the nomadic guards. Inside the courtroom, a direct dialogue between the President of the Supreme Court and Masra’s legal counsel is currently underway, marking the first phase of this high-profile case.
