After finishing fifth and missing out on the lucrative Champions League, Olympique de Marseille finds itself in a tricky financial position. The revenue shortfall from not qualifying for Europe’s top competition forces the Provencal club to focus this summer transfer window on selling players. Worse still, the off-season could turn into a major clearance sale for Marseille, as the club lacks bargaining power and must part with its most valuable assets.
