United Nations Security Council takes strong stance against recent violence in Mali
The United Nations Security Council has issued a sharp condemnation of the brutal terrorist assaults carried out by Al-Qaïda-linked militants across Mali since April 25, demanding swift justice for those responsible.
In an official statement released Friday, the Council emphasized the urgent need to hold accountable not only the direct perpetrators but also those who orchestrated, financed, or supported these heinous acts of violence.
The West African nation has been grappling with escalating instability following the April 25-26 attacks, which targeted key government strongholds and left the Defense Minister among the casualties. These coordinated strikes have intensified concerns over the country’s security situation and the junta’s ability to maintain control since seizing power in 2020.
