The Moroccan government has entered into a groundbreaking partnership with the World Bank to fuel the next phase of economic expansion while prioritizing inclusive development. Nadia Fettah, Minister of Economy and Finance, highlighted the initiative’s focus on job creation for young people and women across both urban and rural areas.

«This new partnership represents a pivotal moment for Morocco,» Fettah stated. «Its strength lies in its structured approach, merging public and private funding, expertise, and reforms into a unified strategy for the nation’s future.»

The framework is deeply rooted in Morocco’s New Development Model, a strategic roadmap designed to cultivate a more dynamic, equitable, and resilient economy—where the integration of youth and women into the workforce remains a pressing challenge.

Three key pillars have been established to drive this vision forward:

  • Boosting business competitiveness: Streamlining regulatory hurdles, fostering market competition, and expanding financing options for small and medium-sized enterprises.
  • Building connected and inclusive territories: Bridging geographical disparities by enhancing access to markets and essential services in both urban centers and rural communities.
  • Empowering human capital: Supporting educational reforms, expanding universal healthcare coverage, and broadening social protection systems.

To implement these priorities, the World Bank will deploy a multi-faceted strategy, combining financial loans, technical know-how, and strategic private sector investments.
