The Office National pour l’Organisation du Pèlerinage (ORGEP) has issued a stern reminder to Chadian pilgrims ahead of the 2026 Hajj, emphasizing strict adherence to safety, health, and discipline guidelines set by Saudi authorities.
Key directives for a secure pilgrimage
The ORGEP’s latest communication highlights several critical measures to ensure the smooth and safe execution of the Hajj for Chadian nationals:
Prohibited activities
- Political or partisan discussions—whether in hotels or on sacred sites such as Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah—are strictly forbidden.
- Unauthorized hosting of individuals not registered as pilgrims in accommodations or ritual sites is also prohibited.
Health precautions in extreme heat
With temperatures soaring in Saudi Arabia, authorities strongly advise pilgrims to:
- Avoid outdoor activities between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM to minimize health risks.
- Refrain from prolonged walking between ritual locations to conserve energy and prevent exhaustion.
Special provisions for vulnerable pilgrims
The ORGEP has made arrangements for elderly, sick, or physically challenged pilgrims:
- They may delegate the stoning of the pillars (Djamarat) to a trusted representative.
Emergency support
For immediate assistance, pilgrims can contact the Saudi emergency hotline: 1966.
The ORGEP underscores that compliance with these directives is essential not only for the safety of individual pilgrims but also for the overall success of the 2026 Hajj.
