The Collectif des descendants de Serigne Touba has officially filed a legal complaint against political figure Ousmane Sonko, citing allegations of defamation and the spread of false information. The legal team representing the group, led by Me Aboubacry Barro, confirmed the action through a statement on platform X.
This legal move comes in response to public remarks made by Sonko, in which he claimed that « substantial funds have recently been directed toward Touba, sourced from public coffers and obtained illegally. » He further asserted that these financial resources « are not intended for political purposes » but would instead be used to « meet political demands. »
