Christopher Raia, the Deputy Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), recently visited the International Police Cooperation Centre (IPCC). This crucial hub brings together law enforcement and security agency representatives from all nations participating in the upcoming 2026 World Cup.

The visit formed an integral part of the high-level security framework established to oversee all matches of the global football tournament. During his time at the IPCC, the senior American official held a dedicated meeting with representatives from Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).

Mr. Raia conveyed his sincere appreciation for Morocco’s active involvement in ensuring the event’s safety and its substantial contributions across all phases of the tournament. He underscored the FBI’s perspective, highlighting the Kingdom as a highly dependable partner, distinguished by its internationally recognized expertise and credibility in security matters.

Addressing the assembled foreign security service representatives at the IPCC, the FBI Deputy Director delivered a key address. He emphasized the paramount importance of international partnerships and multilateral cooperation in intelligence sharing, which are fundamental to the security arrangements for the World Cup, co-hosted by the United States.

Mr. Raia further elaborated on the formidable challenge of securing 78 matches over a span of nearly two weeks. He stressed that achieving this objective would be utterly impossible without seamless and robust international collaboration.

He also highlighted a discernible rise in threats successfully neutralized by American authorities within their borders. This success, he stated, is directly attributable to the precision of intelligence shared and the unwavering support provided by partner nations, reinforcing the critical role of global alliances in maintaining security.
