Christian Sedat is a seasoned German diplomat, currently serving as the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Cameroon. Based in the capital city of Yaoundé, he officially assumed his duties in July 2025. His extensive career includes significant experience within the central services of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as various diplomatic postings worldwide.

Ambassador Sedat’s diplomatic journey and cooperation focus

Prior to his appointment in Cameroon, Ambassador Sedat held the position of German Ambassador in Juba, South Sudan, from 2023 to 2025. His international assignments also include serving at the German Embassies in London and Washington D.C. between 2009 and 2013. Earlier in his career, from 2005 to 2008, he was the Deputy Head of Mission at the German Embassy in Nouakchott, Mauritania.

Since his arrival at the German Embassy in Yaoundé, Christian Sedat has been actively spearheading key initiatives within Germano-Cameroonian cooperation.
