While all attention is on the 2026 World Cup, Paris Saint-Germain are already mapping out their summer transfer strategy. With Gonçalo Ramos reportedly set to depart, sporting director Luis Campos appears to have identified at least three new targets, one of whom could be a rising Ligue 1 talent.

In recent years, PSG have shifted their approach completely. Gone are the days of blockbuster signings and ageing superstars; the capital club now focuses on young prospects and a form of post-formation that has already paid off. Désiré Doué and João Neves are prime examples, having become undisputed starters in Paris.

Akliouche on his way out

This trend could continue with a young attacking midfielder from Ligue 1. The player in question is Maghnes Akliouche, who was already tracked last summer and appears ready to move on during this window. However, do not expect him to clarify his future. “What matters to me is enjoying myself, continuing to be happy on the pitch and keeping my sky blue,” the France international said a few months ago. “I want to give pleasure to people, to my teammates, to repay the trust Monaco has given me. And above all, to maintain my desire to progress and be more decisive. Talking about anything else makes no sense today.”

PSG in pole position

Currently at the 2026 World Cup with the French national team, Akliouche will eventually have to address his future. Market observers note a strong possibility he leaves AS Monaco this summer, with several clubs tracking him. PSG are among them and are considered the firm favourites to win the race. In the principality, an offer is reportedly expected for the player, who is valued at around €50 million.
