The Rassemblement pour la Patrie et la Modernité (RPM), a key member of Gabon’s ruling coalition, has publicly lauded President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema for his proactive governance between August 9 and 30. In a statement signed by spokesperson Etienne Francky Meba Ondo, the party hailed the president’s dedication to national development during this period.
The RPM’s communiqué, titled “From Action to Results”, specifically commended the new healthcare initiatives unveiled, along with the concrete achievements and the president’s consistent presence in the provinces.
Healthcare investment tops 55 billion CFA francs
The party highlighted the 30 August announcement in Makokou, where the president pledged 55 billion CFA francs to healthcare—44 billion for national technical infrastructure, 6 billion for reopening hospital cafeterias, and 5 billion for CNAMGS social security services. The RPM emphasized that these measures address critical public concerns and urged swift implementation.
New infrastructure and projects across Gabon
The communiqué also praised the inauguration of multiple facilities in Libreville, including healthcare, commercial, administrative, and defense structures. Additionally, 17 strategic projects were launched in Ogooué-Ivindo during the late-August Liberation Day celebrations in Makokou. The RPM noted progress on the Mayiga residential housing program, with 50 units completed, 25 under construction, and plans for 500 plots to foster balanced regional development beyond Libreville.
“Time for proof, not promises”
The RPM echoed President Oligui Nguema’s stance that “the time for promises must give way to results”, stressing that government success should be measured by tangible improvements in citizens’ lives. The party reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen national unity and modernization.
The RPM also welcomed the visit of Democratic Republic of Congo President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo to Libreville, which culminated in the signing of three bilateral cooperation agreements.
Led by Vice President Alexandre Barro Chambrier, the RPM remains a key coalition partner while maintaining its political independence. The party holds three seats in the National Assembly.
