In anticipation of the 22nd World Blood Donor Day on 14 June 2026, the National Blood Transfusion Centre (CNTS) of Lomé is calling on residents of the capital and surrounding areas to take part in a special blood collection campaign.

This year’s commemoration, under the theme “A drop of humanity. Give blood. Save lives.”, will feature a dedicated blood drive on Friday, 12 June 2026, running from 08:00 to 16:00.

Two collection sites in Lomé

Donors can choose from two locations for the operation:

  • The National Blood Transfusion Centre (CNTS) at Tokoin Doumasséssé, opposite EPP Doumasséssé 1;
  • The Collection and Distribution Post (PCD) of Tokoin, located at the Sylvanus Olympio University Hospital Centre, behind the haemodialysis unit.

A call for solidarity to save lives

With this initiative, the CNTS aims to bolster blood reserves and meet the needs of health facilities. The institution urges the public to join the donation drive, emphasising that a single donation can help save several lives.

“We are all united through the act of giving,” the National Blood Transfusion Centre states, counting on the generosity and civic commitment of donors to make this event a success.

The CNTS of Lomé thanks all volunteers in advance for their contribution to this solidarity action in support of patients who require blood transfusions.
