Could Aurélien Tchouaméni be leaving Real Madrid this summer? The 26-year-old midfielder, currently featuring in the 2026 World Cup with France, has been frequently linked with a departure. However, two specific reasons are currently holding up the French international’s transfer.

Arriving in the summer of 2022, Aurélien Tchouaméni could see his spell at Real Madrid end this summer. While he plays in the 2026 World Cup for France, the French international has been repeatedly mentioned as a potential departure in recent days. Manchester United is said to be closely monitoring the situation for the 26-year-old midfielder. Yet two main obstacles are preventing a possible move to the Red Devils.

“Real Madrid is not inclined to open the door for Tchouaméni”

The two issues surrounding Tchouaméni remain unchanged. The first is his salary. He commands a high wage, and at this point, that does not align with what Manchester United intends to do. United admires him and views him as a fantastic player. But for now, Real Madrid is not keen on opening the door for Tchouaméni. A phone call from Real Madrid to Manchester United indicating he is for sale has not happened. Should that call come, United would be ready to try. However, the salary problem persists, and Real Madrid has yet to give the green light.

Real Madrid focuses on reinforcements

It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid will eventually favor the departure of Aurélien Tchouaméni. The Madrid board is currently concentrating on bringing in new talent for José Mourinho. After Marc Cucurella and Ibrahima Konaté, the Merengues are not expected to slow down. A Tchouaméni exit is therefore not the priority at the Casa Blanca at this time.
