Digital revolution at the heart of Côte d’Ivoire’s education future
Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire — The nationwide Open Days for Educational Research and Innovation (JOURIE 2026) kicked off Tuesday at the École nationale supérieure de statistique et d’économie appliquée (ENSEA), marking a decisive step toward integrating digital solutions in the nation’s education system.
Organized by the Ministry of National Education, Literacy and Technical Training, this two-day event (July 21-22, 2026) centers on the theme: “Transforming education through digital innovation: sustainable solutions for quality schools”. The initiative aims to foster research culture and leverage scientific findings alongside pedagogical innovations to elevate learning standards across Côte d’Ivoire’s schools, colleges, high schools and universities.
Bridging research, policy and technology
In his opening address, Dr. Inza Meité, Director of Studies, Strategy, Planning and Statistics at the Ministry, emphasized JOURIE 2026 as a vital platform for collective reflection on how scientific research and technological advancements can reshape educational institutions nationwide. He highlighted the event’s role in strengthening the connection between academic findings and policy decisions to ensure public strategies are rooted in robust data and rigorous analysis.
« This year’s edition provides a unique opportunity to showcase research breakthroughs, exchange practical experiments, explore cutting-edge technological solutions, and address systemic challenges through collaborative dialogue between researchers, educators, policymakers, and innovators, » Dr. Meité explained.

The Ministry’s leadership reiterated its commitment to positioning digital technology as the cornerstone of a high-performing, equitable and inclusive education system. By prioritizing science, innovation, and digital literacy, Côte d’Ivoire aims to build a future-ready educational framework that leaves no learner behind.
Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Minister of National Education, Literacy and Technical Training, Mr. Kouadio Kouman, Technical Advisor to the Ministry, reinforced the government’s resolve to anchor education reforms in evidence-based practices aligned with international benchmarks. He described digital technology not merely as a tool, but as a strategic accelerator capable of transforming Côte d’Ivoire’s schools into more adaptive, accessible, and high-quality learning environments.
« The JOURIE 2026 platform brings together researchers, teachers, developers, public officials, technical partners, and financial stakeholders to explore how digital innovation can address governance challenges, enhance teacher training, upgrade infrastructure, and promote inclusion across the education sector, » Mr. Kouman noted.
