This summer transfer window saw one of the most significant moves in European football, as Paris Saint-Germain finalized the departure of Portuguese striker Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan. The deal, valued at €74 million with potential bonuses pushing it to €80 million, marks the end of an eventful chapter for both player and club.

Gonçalo Ramos arrived at PSG in the summer of 2023 from Benfica but never established himself as a first-choice starter. However, his impact coming off the bench proved decisive. With 21 goals scored as a substitute, he shattered a long-standing club record, remaining unbeaten in competitive matches when he found the net (29 wins and 8 draws). His contributions extended beyond goals, with 10 assists in 131 appearances for the French capital side.

An emotional farewell to PSG

In an emotional statement, Gonçalo Ramos reflected on his time at PSG, expressing gratitude for the opportunities he received. « Today, one of the most significant chapters of my career comes to a close. Wearing the PSG jersey was both a privilege and an honor that I will always cherish. Together, we created unforgettable moments and achieved remarkable success, including two Champions League titles and other prestigious trophies », he shared. « I want to thank my teammates, the coaching staff, the club’s leadership, and especially the fans. Your unwavering support through challenges and victories alike was instrumental in everything we accomplished. Though I leave today, a part of me will always remain with this club. PSG will always feel like home to me, and I take pride in having contributed to its history. Thank you for everything. Paris will forever hold a special place in my heart and in that of my family. »
