Kpalimé, August 18, 2026 — The municipal council of Kloto 1 is accelerating its development agenda. During its third ordinary session of 2026, local officials approved a substantial budget increase of 456.3 million FCFA, pushing the commune’s total budget from 531.2 million to over 987.5 million FCFA.
Transforming budget into visible progress
The 46.2% surge marks a decisive strategic shift, with nearly all new funds earmarked for direct territorial development. Operating expenses remain tightly controlled, consuming just 19.66% of the budget, while a staggering 80.34% flows into tangible investment projects.
Key infrastructure projects to reshape Kpalimé
Among the flagship initiatives is the construction of a major livestock wholesale market, designed to streamline local trade flows and boost municipal revenues. Concurrently, a sweeping urban renewal plan will upgrade road networks, enhance public spaces, and strengthen the city’s appeal to tourists.
Neighborhood committees revitalized for citizen-driven governance
To ensure these investments deliver maximum impact, the council has systematically renewed the Neighborhood Development Committees (CDQ) across all 33 districts. This restructuring empowers residents to actively participate in project prioritization and monitoring, forging a collaborative performance pact between authorities and citizens.
