Club OHADA UAM opening ceremony and the As de la Plaidoirie contest in Niger
The Club OHADA at the Université Abdou Moumouni in Niamey (Club OHADA UAM) is set to host its official 2026 academic launch on May 22 and 23. Scheduled from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the event will explore the central theme: “OHADA, the past, the present and the future!”.
This scientific and academic gathering will also feature the 8th edition of the “As de la Plaidoirie” in OHADA Law. This prestigious competition aims to encourage legal proficiency, judicial eloquence, and scholarly debate regarding the progression of unified African business regulations.
Selected themes for the competition
- Preliminary round: “Should business law be redefined within the OHADA framework?”
- Grand final: “OHADA Law: Business Law or Law of Economic Activities?”
These subjects highlight contemporary dialogues concerning the expansion of OHADA’s legal scope and the necessity of adapting unified laws to meet the changing economic landscape of Africa and the world.
Awards and recognition
The organizers have announced that the winner of the competition will be presented with several prizes, including:
