The Ligue de Football Professionnel disciplinary committee imposed a one-match closed-door sanction on FC Nantes following crowd disturbances during the final Ligue 1 fixture against Toulouse.

FC Nantes has narrowly avoided point deductions as it prepares for its Ligue 2 campaign. The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) disciplinary committee confirmed a full match played behind closed doors at the Beaujoire stadium. Additionally, the Loire stand will remain shuttered for two further home games. The committee also ratified the 0-0 scoreline recorded at the time the match was abandoned against Toulouse on May 17.

Invasion cuts short Nantes’ top-flight farewell

Nantes’ relegation to Ligue 2 was marred by supporter unrest when fans stormed the pitch during the closing stages of the final Ligue 1 matchday against Toulouse. The referee halted the game as a result of the pitch invasion, which erupted in protest against the club’s relegation following the 0-0 draw.

The disciplinary body acknowledged the severity of the incident while stopping short of imposing the most severe punishment available. Club officials expressed disappointment with the ruling but confirmed they would fully cooperate with authorities to ensure future matches proceed without incident.
