Paris Saint-Germain is poised to finalize a substantial deal with AC Milan for striker Gonçalo Ramos, valued at approximately €60 million. This significant transfer positions Ramos’s departure as the second-largest sale in PSG’s illustrious history, trailing only Neymar’s monumental €90 million move to Al-Hilal in 2023.

The Parisian giants are on the verge of completing one of their most significant outgoing transfers ever. An agreement has been reached with AC Milan for Portuguese forward Gonçalo Ramos, with the deal reportedly worth around €60 million. This substantial transaction will mark the club’s second-highest sale, despite a marginal financial setback. Ramos initially joined PSG on a paid loan, valued at €20 million, before his permanent acquisition for €65 million. His departure, while lucrative, means the striker leaves the French capital without fully vindicating the initial investment.

Only Neymar currently stands above Ramos in the ranking of PSG’s top sales. The Brazilian superstar was transferred to Saudi club Al-Hilal in the summer of 2023 for a staggering €90 million. Six years prior, Neymar had arrived at PSG from FC Barcelona in a world-record move costing €222 million. However, his tenure in Saudi Arabia was brief and largely unproductive, limited to just seven appearances, yielding one goal and three assists.

Prior to this, no other Paris Saint-Germain player sale had surpassed the significant €50 million mark. That distinction previously belonged to Manuel Ugarte, who moved to Manchester United for €50 million during the final hours of the 2024 summer transfer window. Interestingly, Ugarte had only arrived from Sporting CP a year earlier for €60 million. This particular sale proved to be a shrewd piece of business for PSG, especially considering the Uruguayan midfielder has struggled to consistently establish himself with the Red Devils, despite an otherwise respectable debut season featuring 45 matches, 2 goals, and 6 assists.

The permanent transfer of Xavi Simons also significantly bolstered PSG’s financial standing. Through a highly advantageous contractual agreement, the club secured between €50 million and €80 million from the Dutch attacking midfielder’s sale to RB Leipzig, which was officially confirmed in winter 2025. Just a few months thereafter, Simons made a subsequent move to Tottenham, where he quickly became instrumental in the Spurs’ successful campaign.

Ronaldinho: a notable exception

Further down the list of significant Parisian player departures are Marco Verratti, who transferred to Al-Arabi for €45 million in 2023, and Gonçalo Guedes, sold to Valencia for €40 million. Following them are David Luiz, who rejoined Chelsea in 2016 for €35 million, and the legendary Ronaldinho. The Brazilian icon stands as the sole representative from the pre-QSI era in the club’s top 20 sales, having been moved to FC Barcelona for just over €30 million.

As the official announcement of Gonçalo Ramos’s departure looms, another transfer saga could soon intensify. Lee Kang-in, currently under contract until 2028, continues to command significant market interest. The South Korean international, boasting an impressive 50 caps and 10 goals for his national team, is reportedly a persistent target for Atlético de Madrid, who have been closely monitoring his situation for several weeks.
