Niamey workshop fortifies religious leaders against radical discourse
Niamey, Niger – A crucial training session recently concluded in Niamey, gathering religious affairs officials from across Niger. The League of Ulemas, Preachers, and Imams of the Sahel (LOPIS), in close collaboration with the Fusion and Liaison Unit (UNFL), orchestrated this workshop dedicated to empowering local religious cadres. The central theme explored during the session was “Building Intellectual Immunity and Deconstructing Radicalized Discourse.” This strategic initiative aims to equip religious leaders with essential tools and understanding to effectively counter extremist narratives and foster robust intellectual resilience within their communities in this vital West Africa region.
