Turin derby chaos: Torino-Juve match postponed after serious supporter violence

The Torino-Juve match was eventually set to kick off at 21:45

The highly anticipated Torino-Juve derby, originally scheduled for 20:45 on Sunday, was delayed until 21:45 due to security concerns following violent clashes between supporters.

The final matchday of the Serie A season took a dramatic turn in Turin when the scheduled kick-off between Torino and Juventus was postponed after serious disturbances erupted among rival fans. Emergency services rushed a Juventus supporter to hospital with life-threatening injuries, forcing officials to postpone the match for safety reasons.

With Juventus still in contention for a UEFA Champions League spot, the incident cast a shadow over what was meant to be a decisive fixture. The match was eventually rescheduled for 21:45, but not before intense discussions between club representatives and league officials.

Damien Comolli, Juventus CEO, revealed that supporters in the Juventus section urged team captain Manuel Locatelli to refuse playing under the circumstances. The league had originally scheduled this match alongside other high-stakes fixtures in Milan, Como, and Rome, all competing for the final two Champions League qualification spots.
