The Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Vocational Training convened a national workshop in N’Djamena on July 10, 2026, to validate the ground-level analysis report ahead of drafting the National Strategy for Digital Transformation in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). The event brought together key stakeholders to review, refine, and endorse a document that will shape Chad’s future policy for TVET digitalization.
This initiative aligns with the Pan-African Initiative for Digital Transformation in TVET systems, supported by organizations including UNESCO, the African Union, and the African Development Bank. The preparatory study engaged over 200 participants from 57 technical and vocational training centers (CFTPs) and oversight bodies through field missions and digital surveys across all national academic regions.
Addressing the workshop on behalf of the Secretary of State for Higher Education, Dr. Djininboh Gabriel, Director General of Human Resources, Statistics, and Digitalization, emphasized the strategic importance of digital transformation in aligning TVET systems with technological shifts and emerging job markets. He highlighted the government’s commitment to leveraging digital tools as a catalyst for modernizing TVET.
Dr. Djininboh noted that while the analysis highlights progress, it also identifies critical challenges—such as governance gaps, inadequate digital infrastructure, connectivity issues, energy access, teacher training, and the integration of digital skills into curricula. He urged participants to contribute insights that would shape a practical, inclusive, and nationally tailored strategy.
Once validated, the report will serve as the foundation for Chad’s National Digital Transformation Strategy for TVET and its operational action plan for 2026–2030. The goal is to equip Chad with a modern, high-performing TVET system responsive to labor market demands.
