Côte d’Ivoire rallies investors to boost 2026 development plan
The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group kicked off in Abidjan on July 9, 2026, at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire, with Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé at the helm. Over 700 international investors gathered to explore opportunities in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation.
Prime Minister urges private sector partnership
« This session marks a pivotal moment in our collective effort to drive economic growth through private investment, » declared Robert Beugré Mambé. « The presence of more than 700 investors from friendly nations reflects the confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic potential and its track record of resilience. »
The Prime Minister emphasized that this gathering serves as a key platform for dialogue between the government and the private sector, fostering shared strategies for sustainable development. « Your commitment is vital to building a more competitive and job-creating economy. Côte d’Ivoire’s economic resilience—with an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years—positions it as one of Africa’s most dynamic markets, » he added.
Private sector as the engine of growth
Robert Beugré Mambé underscored the government’s commitment to making the private sector the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic transformation. He highlighted key sectors poised for investment under the PND 2026-2030, including:
- Industrialization and local processing of raw materials to enhance value addition
- Strategic infrastructure development, including transportation, digital technology, and logistics
- Human capital investment, innovation, and essential services to boost productivity and inclusivity
The Prime Minister also noted the success of the first day, which attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including government partners and private stakeholders, all aligned with Côte d’Ivoire’s development vision.
Investors pledge support for Côte d’Ivoire’s future
In a show of solidarity, leaders from major business organizations reaffirmed their backing for Côte d’Ivoire’s development goals. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), along with Mehdi Tazi of Morocco’s CGEM and Mohamed Gouled of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), expressed readiness to contribute financially to the PND 2026-2030 through substantial commitments.
