The second day of the Consultative Group for Côte d’Ivoire’s National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030, focused on investors, was officially inaugurated on July 9, 2026, at the Sofitel Hotel Ivoire in Abidjan. The session was led by Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé, who emphasized the critical role of private sector participation in driving economic transformation.

Uniting global investors around Côte d’Ivoire’s growth vision

Prime Minister Mambé highlighted the significance of the event, stating, “This marks a pivotal moment in our collective journey to mobilize private investment and unlock the full potential of Côte d’Ivoire’s economy.” With over 700 international investors from allied nations in attendance, the forum underscored the country’s appeal as a premier investment destination in West Africa.

Strategic collaboration for economic resurgence

Addressing a packed audience of business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives, the Prime Minister stressed that the gathering serves as a vital platform for dialogue and alignment on development priorities. “Your presence here is a vote of confidence in our economic trajectory and a testament to Côte d’Ivoire’s resilience,” he noted, adding that private sector engagement is indispensable for achieving the nation’s ambitious goals.

Côte d’Ivoire’s economic performance over recent years—marked by an average growth rate of 6.5%—has cemented its reputation as one of the continent’s most dynamic markets. The Prime Minister reassured investors of the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the engine of this transformation, particularly in sectors identified as priorities under the PND 2026-2030.

Key sectors and investment opportunities unveiled

Mambé outlined the primary focus areas for accelerated investment, including:

  • Industrialization and local value addition to enhance competitiveness and maximize returns from raw materials;
  • Strategic infrastructure development, encompassing transportation, digital connectivity, and logistics to bolster economic efficiency;
  • Human capital investment and innovation to foster a more productive and inclusive economy.

The Prime Minister also referenced the first day of the consultative forum, which drew over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, reflecting strong international interest in Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy.

Private sector voices echo commitment to Côte d’Ivoire’s future

In a show of solidarity, leaders from key business confederations and financial institutions reaffirmed their support for the government’s vision. Among them were Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI); Mehdi Tazi, President of the Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and President of MEDEF Africa; and Mohamed Gouled, Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Their collective message was clear: “We are fully prepared to contribute through substantial financial commitments to the successful implementation of the PND 2026-2030.”
