Abidjan hosts pivotal investor forum for Côte d’Ivoire’s 2026-2030 development blueprint
The second day of Côte d’Ivoire’s National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group focused on investors kicked off in Abidjan, with Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé leading the high-profile gathering at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire on July 9, 2026.
Robert Beugré Mambé opened the session by emphasizing the critical role of private investment in driving the country’s ambitious economic transformation. “This marks a significant milestone in our consultative framework, centered on fostering investment, entrepreneurship, and value creation,” he stated. “We’ve welcomed over 700 investors from allied nations, underscoring the global confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s growth potential.”
Strategic partnerships to propel economic ambitions
The Prime Minister addressed a room filled with business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives who had traveled to Abidjan to engage in this pivotal dialogue. He highlighted the forum as a key platform for aligning public and private sector visions to accelerate development.
“Your commitment alongside us reflects the trust placed in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic outlook and growth trajectory,” he noted. “As crucial partners, you play an instrumental role in turning our vision into reality—building a more competitive economy with robust job creation. Success hinges on your willingness to invest in our shared future.”
Private sector as the engine of transformation
Robert Beugré Mambé reaffirmed the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the driving force behind Côte d’Ivoire’s economic metamorphosis. He reassured attendees of the nation’s economic resilience, citing an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years despite global instability, which has cemented Côte d’Ivoire’s status as one of Africa’s most dynamic economies.
“This is a market brimming with opportunities,” he declared. “Today’s engagements will fast-track investments in priority sectors outlined in the PND 2026-2030, including industrialization and local processing of raw materials to enhance value addition, strategic infrastructure development in transport, digitalization, logistics, and investments in human capital, innovation, and essential services to cultivate a more productive and inclusive economy.”
Institutional backing fuels investor confidence
The Prime Minister also noted that the first day of the consultative group, dedicated to institutional partners and the presentation of Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy, drew over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, including the host nation.
Leaders from key business confederations echoed this optimism. Ahmed Cissé, President of the General Confederation of Enterprises of Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), alongside Mehdi Tazi from Morocco’s General Confederation of Enterprises (CGEM) and Mohamed Gouled of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), expressed unwavering support for the Ivorian authorities’ vision. They pledged substantial financial commitments to help execute the PND 2026-2030.
