The Malian Armed Forces (FAMA) reported on Thursday that their coordinated military operations, carried out with allied partners, resulted in the elimination of nearly a hundred armed fighters in the northern regions of Anfif and Tabrachat.
In an official statement, the army revealed that the targeted groups included members of the Group for the Support of Islam and Muslims (JNIM) and the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA). The operations involved 13 airstrikes, which also led to the destruction of six combat vehicles and a pickup truck used by the militants.
The FAMA emphasized that these operations took place on Tuesday and are part of a broader military campaign aimed at dismantling armed factions operating across the country. The statement underscored the army’s commitment to maintaining disciplined and resolute action in coordination with its partners to neutralize security threats.
A follow-up communiqué from the Russian Africa Corps highlighted the success of the joint efforts, noting the destruction of a significant number of militant vehicles. The Corps also reported that one of its drones successfully targeted a vehicle transporting ammunition and military equipment, further crippling the operational capacity of the armed groups.
The Russian Africa Corps reaffirmed its ongoing support for the Malian Army, stating that such coordinated operations would continue to focus on dismantling militant positions and seizing their resources.
