Rabat hosts key Morocco-India economic forum 2026
Rabat recently hosted the significant Morocco-India Economic Forum 2026 on Monday, an event spearheaded by the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services (CCISRSK). This crucial gathering was organized in close collaboration with the Embassy of India in the Kingdom and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
This high-profile conference brought together an influential Indian delegation comprising 21 top business executives from key strategic sectors. They converged with prominent Moroccan economic stakeholders, representing various industries, to delve into opportunities for forging lasting partnerships and securing mutually advantageous investments, crucial for the broader African economy today.
During the forum, Hassan Sakhi, President of the CCISRSK, emphasized how the enduring friendship between Morocco and India has blossomed into a robust, diversified, and continuously expanding economic partnership.
In a statement delivered on his behalf, Mr. Sakhi observed that the numerous high-level ministerial initiatives and memoranda of understanding (MOUs) formalized between Morocco and India across vital strategic sectors clearly illustrate the vibrant and evolving political ties binding the two nations.
He further highlighted that the substantial presence of the Indian business delegation, encompassing leaders from diverse fields like automotive, agriculture, information technology, healthcare, and energy, underscores the escalating interest Indian stakeholders are demonstrating in the dynamic Moroccan market, a key player in West Africa news.
Mr. Sakhi pointed out that the vitality of bilateral trade is particularly evident in the growing volume of economic exchanges. He underscored Morocco’s strong commitment to intensifying this momentum, recognizing India as a premier commercial partner possessing vast technological and industrial expertise, vital for pan-African news and development.
Representing the CII, Mohan Puri, head of the Indian delegation, expressed his conviction that both nations possess the capability to forge a robust partnership that effectively links India, Morocco, and the wider African continent. He specifically noted the Kingdom’s significant untapped potential and considerable capacities.
In this context, Puri lauded Morocco for its abundant opportunities, particularly in emerging sectors such as renewable energies, green hydrogen, aviation, defense, and digital technologies. He further highlighted that Morocco serves as an ideal platform for businesses from both India and Morocco to implement a range of innovative projects and advance technological development.
The forum’s agenda featured the screening of an insightful institutional video, showcasing the economic strengths and diverse investment prospects within the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region. This was complemented by a detailed documentary exploring Morocco’s business climate and the latest updates to its investment charter, reflecting key African politics and economic strategies.
A significant Memorandum of Understanding was also formally signed, designed to bolster commercial exchanges, stimulate investments, and foster industrial partnerships between India and the economically vibrant Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region.
The forum concluded with a productive networking session, facilitating numerous one-on-one B2B meetings between members of the two distinguished delegations, marking a successful step for Panafrica News coverage.
