royal throne speech outlines Morocco’s competitive economic strategy

King Mohammed VI of Morocco with Crown Prince Moulay Hassan

In his address marking the 27th anniversary of his accession to the throne, His Majesty King Mohammed VI outlined a forward-looking strategy designed to strengthen Morocco’s standing in an increasingly competitive global economy.

A leading Moroccan-American political scientist and university professor specializing in international relations noted that the Royal Speech reflects a consistent long-term vision that has shaped Morocco’s development trajectory over recent years.

Rather than merely reviewing past achievements, the Royal Address highlights a distinctive Moroccan development model built on strategic foresight, efficient implementation, and sustained investment. It reinforces a comprehensive governance approach grounded in the country’s stability, security, and institutional effectiveness, the expert emphasized.

He pointed out that the Monarch placed particular emphasis on advanced manufacturing, renewable energy, aerospace, defense industries, and resilient supply chains—all aimed at equipping Morocco with the tools needed to navigate a global economy facing mounting challenges.

In his assessment, the strategy outlined by the Kingdom is geared toward building a more diversified national economy, driven by innovation, industrial growth, and technological advancement to meet future challenges head-on.
