N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad officially launched its comprehensive national strategy for 2026-2030 this Thursday, during a press conference held on July 9, 2026. The event, which took place at the Hôtel Résidence in N’Djamena, brought together key media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities. This new roadmap outlines the organization’s ambitious goal to positively impact the lives of 3.29 million children by 2030, with a particular focus on 3.09 million of the most vulnerable. This will be achieved through enhanced interventions across crucial sectors including health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience.

Carla Dominique Denizard, World Vision’s Regional Director for West Africa, based in Dakar, described the new World Vision Tchad strategy as both “audacious and innovative.” She elaborated that it is firmly rooted in the “Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus” approach, designed to seamlessly link emergency responses with sustainable development initiatives and peacebuilding efforts. Denizard emphasized that the children of Tchad deserve a life of abundance, a vision she believes is attainable through robust partnerships, strong community mobilization, and the thoughtful integration of local cultural and spiritual values.

Further into her address, Carla Dominique Denizard reiterated World Vision’s overarching vision for West and Central Africa: to ensure every child in the most fragile contexts not only survives but also thrives fully. She underscored the persistent significant challenges confronting the region, such as widespread insecurity, multidimensional poverty, the escalating impacts of climate change, and extensive population displacements. In response to this complex reality, the organization has committed to an integrated strategy that combines humanitarian assistance, sustainable development, and peace consolidation.

She affirmed that the World Vision Tchad strategy aligns perfectly with major continental and international frameworks. These include the African Union’s Agenda 2063, several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Tchad’s own Vision 2030. The strategy places strong emphasis on strengthening human capital, enhancing social protection, adapting to climate change, improving educational outcomes through the innovative Unlock Literacy program, and diligently protecting children.

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, the National Director for World Vision Tchad, characterized the launch as a “historic moment” for the organization and, more importantly, for the future of Tchadien children. He highlighted that this new strategy represents a significant 20% increase in the organization’s ambitions compared to its previous strategic cycle. Ngoy Wangoy articulated their straightforward yet bold ambition: to reach 3.29 million children by 2030, with 3.09 million being the most vulnerable. “We aspire for every child in Tchad not just to survive, but to flourish completely,” he declared.

The National Director also reminded attendees that Tchad continues to grapple with numerous difficulties, including persistent poverty, widespread malnutrition, recurring humanitarian crises, and the severe consequences of climate change. Data presented by World Vision indicates that nearly 42% of the Tchadien population lives below the poverty line, underscoring the urgent need to intensify efforts benefiting the most vulnerable communities.

He detailed that the 2026-2030 strategy is built upon several core priority areas. These include bolstering integrated nutrition and health services, with a specific focus on maternal and child health; enhancing education through the Unlock Literacy program, designed to cultivate reading skills from early schooling; safeguarding children from all forms of violence; and strengthening community resilience against the adverse effects of climate change.

Following this comprehensive presentation, World Vision Tchad leaders issued a fervent appeal to all national stakeholders. They called upon public authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and the media to unite their efforts to ensure the successful implementation of this vital strategy. The organization firmly believes that collective mobilization is essential to transform current challenges into lasting opportunities for Tchadien children. Through this 2026-2030 strategy, World Vision aims to actively contribute to the realization of Tchad’s Vision 2030 and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, ultimately building a nation where every child is protected, well-nourished, educated, and fully empowered to thrive.
