N’Djamena – World Vision Tchad officially inaugurated its comprehensive national strategy for 2026-2030 during a press conference held on July 9, 2026. This significant event, hosted at the Hôtel Résidence in N’Djamena, brought together media representatives, technical and financial partners, and national authorities. Through this new strategic blueprint, the organization aims to positively impact the lives of 3.29 million children by 2030, with a particular focus on 3.09 million of the most vulnerable. Interventions will be bolstered across critical sectors including health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience initiatives.

Carla Dominique Denizard, World Vision’s Regional Director for West Africa, based in Dakar, characterized the new framework as both «audacious and innovative». She elaborated that the strategy is firmly rooted in the «Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus» approach, which seeks to seamlessly integrate emergency responses with sustainable development efforts and peacebuilding initiatives. She affirmed that children in Tchad are entitled to a life of abundance, a vision achievable through robust partnerships, strong community engagement, and a deep respect for cultural and spiritual realities.

Continuing her remarks, Denizard underscored World Vision’s overarching vision for West and Central Africa: to ensure every child in the most fragile contexts not only survives but also thrives fully. She highlighted that the region continues to grapple with significant challenges such as persistent insecurity, widespread multidimensional poverty, the escalating impacts of climate change, and large-scale population displacements. In response to these complex realities, World Vision has committed to an integrated approach that harmonizes humanitarian assistance, long-term development, and peace consolidation.

She further explained that World Vision Tchad’s strategy is meticulously aligned with major continental and international directives. These include the African Union’s Agenda 2063, key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16), and Tchad’s own Vision 2030. The strategy places strong emphasis on human capital development, social protection, climate change adaptation, enhancing educational outcomes through the innovative Unlock Literacy program, and safeguarding children’s rights and well-being.

Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, the National Director for World Vision Tchad, took the podium to declare the launch a «historic moment» for the organization and, more importantly, for the future of Tchad’s children. He revealed that this new strategy signifies a 20% increase in the organization’s ambitions compared to its previous strategic cycle. Wangoy articulated their objective as straightforward yet bold: to reach 3.29 million children by 2030, with a specific target of 3.09 million of the most vulnerable. «Our aspiration is for every child in Tchad to not only survive but to truly flourish,» he passionately stated.

The National Director also reminded attendees that Tchad faces a multitude of ongoing challenges, including pervasive poverty, chronic malnutrition, recurrent humanitarian crises, and the severe consequences of climate change. Data presented by World Vision indicates that nearly 42% of the Chadian population lives below the poverty line, underscoring the urgent need for intensified actions to support the most vulnerable communities.

He detailed that the 2026-2030 strategy is structured around several critical priority areas. These encompass strengthening integrated health and nutrition services, with a particular focus on maternal and child health; improving education through the Unlock Literacy program, designed to cultivate reading skills from early schooling; protecting children from all forms of violence; and building the resilience of communities against the adverse effects of climate change.

Concluding the presentation, World Vision Tchad’s leadership extended a fervent appeal to all national stakeholders. They urged public authorities, technical and financial partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and the media to unite their efforts to ensure the successful implementation of this vital strategy.
