World Vision Tchad’s Bold 2030 Strategy to Transform Lives
N’Djamena, Chad — World Vision Tchad has officially unveiled its five-year strategic roadmap for 2026-2030, setting an ambitious target to positively impact the lives of 3.29 million children across the country. The launch event, held in the capital’s leading conference venue, brought together government officials, development partners, media representatives and community leaders to outline a comprehensive vision for the nation’s most vulnerable youth.
The Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus Approach
The new strategy hinges on what World Vision describes as the “Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus,” a holistic framework that bridges emergency relief with long-term sustainable growth and conflict prevention efforts. This integrated model aims to address Chad’s most pressing challenges while fostering resilience among communities facing recurrent crises.
During the launch event, the Regional Director for West Africa at World Vision, Carla Dominique Denizard, emphasized the groundbreaking nature of this initiative. “This strategy represents a paradigm shift in how we approach child welfare in fragile contexts,” she stated. “We’re not just responding to emergencies—we’re building systems that allow every child to thrive, regardless of their circumstances.”
Denizard highlighted that the strategy aligns with both continental frameworks like the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and international commitments such as the Sustainable Development Goals (specifically SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13 and 16). “Our vision is clear: every child in Chad should not just survive, but flourish,” she added.
Targeting the Most Vulnerable Populations
The 2026-2030 strategy prioritizes reaching 3.09 million children from the most vulnerable segments of Chadian society. This represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to previous cycles, reflecting the organization’s commitment to scaling up impact.
National Director Édouard Ngoy Wangoy outlined the key pillars of the new strategy:
- Nutrition and Integrated Health: Special focus on maternal and child health services in underserved regions
- Education Transformation: Expansion of the Unlock Literacy program to improve early reading skills
- Child Protection: Strengthening systems to shield children from violence, exploitation and harmful practices
- Climate Resilience: Building community adaptive capacity to withstand environmental shocks
- Social Protection: Enhancing safety nets for families facing economic hardship
Wangoy stressed that nearly 42% of Chad’s population lives below the poverty line, making these interventions critical to breaking cycles of deprivation. “Our goal is simple yet profound: to ensure every Chadian child has the opportunity to reach their full potential,” he declared.
A Call for Unified Action
The launch concluded with an impassioned appeal from World Vision Tchad’s leadership team. They urged all stakeholders—government agencies, development partners, civil society organizations, religious leaders and media outlets—to collaborate in implementing this transformative agenda.
“This strategy will only succeed with collective effort,” noted Wangoy. “We must pool our resources, share expertise and coordinate our actions to create lasting change for Chad’s children. Together, we can turn today’s challenges into tomorrow’s opportunities for growth and prosperity.”
The organization emphasized that the 2026-2030 strategy represents more than just a plan—it’s a commitment to building a future where every Chadian child is protected, nourished, educated and empowered to shape their own destiny.
