As part of coordinated efforts led by the mayor of Abéché to improve public hygiene and food safety, the local administration of the 1st arrondissement carried out an operation on Thursday to dismantle a clandestine slaughterhouse in the Farik Aguek neighborhood.
Led by Hissein Hassan Tabit, assistant to the delegated administrator, the operation shut down illegal slaughtering activities that were conducted without proper sanitary and regulatory compliance. Several heads of livestock were found on the site during the raid.
District authorities reminded that animal slaughter must take place only in approved facilities to ensure the safety of meat for consumption. They also announced that inspection operations will continue to combat any practices that endanger public health.
Through this action, the commune of Abéché reaffirms its commitment to enforcing hygiene regulations, protecting consumers, and promoting a healthy environment for everyone.
