From politics to entrepreneurship: Méambly Tié Évariste’s renewed commitment to nation-building

In a heartfelt message to compatriots in the Cavally, Guémon and Tonkpi regions, Méambly Tié Évariste marked the 66th anniversary of Côte d’Ivoire’s independence by announcing a significant transition in his career. After more than a decade in national politics—including a decade as a Member of Parliament, serving as the first President of the Guémon Regional Council and leading the Agir pour le Peuple parliamentary group—he has chosen to step back from active political office. This move, he emphasized, is not a withdrawal from public life, but a deliberate shift toward broader contributions through entrepreneurship, education, and sustainable investment.

The former legislator shared his reflections in a public statement, underscoring the broader meaning of public service. “Serving the nation,” he said, “is not limited to holding political office. It extends to every space where experience, knowledge, dedication, and investment can help build a stronger Côte d’Ivoire—and indeed, a stronger Africa.”

Academic excellence and thought leadership

During his time away from the political spotlight, Méambly Tié Évariste pursued advanced studies with the same rigor he applied to public service. Over nearly seven years, he completed two Master’s degrees—one in organizational management in Tunisia and another in public policy with a focus on Africa at Sciences Po Paris—and is now finalizing a doctorate in management sciences, with his defense scheduled for October 2026.

He has also made his voice heard through writing. His published works include:

A strategic pivot toward economic and social impact

Since 2012, Méambly Tié Évariste has expanded his professional activities beyond Côte d’Ivoire, and since 2020, he has been based in France, where he has established a platform for international business development and partnerships. With the completion of his doctorate on the horizon, he now intends to fully dedicate himself to:

• Developing businesses that create jobs and economic opportunities
• Investing in large-scale, nation-building projects
• Strengthening international partnerships for Africa’s growth
• Promoting education, innovation, and youth empowerment

His decision to transition from politics to entrepreneurship, he noted, is rooted in a deep sense of responsibility and a desire to contribute in new ways. “This is not a departure born of opposition or disillusionment,” he clarified. “It is a natural evolution of a journey that began with service and now seeks to deepen impact through economic and intellectual leadership.”
