« I want the Gabon Business Federation to be recognized tomorrow not just for defending companies, but above all for helping them succeed. »

This was the wish expressed by Alain Claude Kouakoua, president of the Gabon Business Federation (FEG), during the opening ceremony of the second edition of the Gabon Economic Forum (GEF) on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Palais des Congrès.

Indeed, this gathering, which brings together decision-makers and international partners, serves as a platform aimed at addressing Gabon’s economic challenges.

In a pragmatic tone, the FEG president stated that no country has ever developed without strong businesses. For him, business is not a peripheral actor but the very engine of development.

For his part, Vice President of the Republic Hugues Alexandre Barro Chambrier emphasized the government’s understanding and support for the private sector: « The state will do its part to ensure that the cleanup of public finances allows timely payment of what is owed to private companies. »

An inspiring speech that raised a strong ambition: to build a diversified economy, less dependent on raw materials and more focused on industrialization.

This forum thus represents a strong dialogue to successfully address Gabon’s economic challenges and objectives.
