In a decisive move to modernize governance and strengthen party cohesion, former Ivorian President Laurent Gbagbo has announced a significant restructuring of the leadership of the Parti des Peuples Africains-Côte d’Ivoire (PPA-CI). The reorganization introduces a shared leadership model, entrusting five senior officials with key responsibilities to enhance the party’s operational efficiency and strategic direction.
Five Key Figures Appointed to Lead the PPA-CI
The new leadership structure includes four vice-presidents and one president of the Strategic and Political Council (CSP), each assigned distinct roles to ensure balanced decision-making and collective responsibility.
- Assoa Adou, First Vice-President, will oversee adherence to the party’s statutes and internal regulations, ensuring all activities align with its foundational principles.
- Oulaye Hubert, Second Vice-President, will preside over the Central Committee sessions, reinforcing internal governance and organizational discipline.
- Ackan Emmanuel, Third Vice-President, has been tasked with revitalizing the party’s political activities and expanding its influence, while maintaining strong ties with national institutions.
- Justin Koné Katinan, Fourth Vice-President, will steer the party’s general policy, coordinating and monitoring its implementation to align with the broader political vision.
- Sébastien Dano Djedje has been appointed President of the CSP, responsible for overseeing the party’s strategic direction and ensuring cohesive leadership.

This leadership overhaul follows Gbagbo‘s earlier announcement, made during the PPA-CI’s Renaissance Day celebrations in Songon M’Bratté on May 16, aimed at enhancing the party’s functionality and responsiveness to its mission.
