Gagnoa, 06 juil 2026 – The Ouragahio commune recently undertook a thorough assessment of its women’s empowerment policy. Mayor Dr. Pierre Dacoury-Tabley led this evaluation, which took place during a special tribute ceremony for the commune’s women, affectionately known as ‘Mother’s Day’. Sub-prefect Tié-Bi Assi Apo Josiane presided over the event on Saturday, July 4, 2026, held within the municipal courtyard.
The initiatives reviewed spanned several crucial areas, including literacy training and fundamental accounting skills for women traders. Significant attention was also given to maternal and child healthcare, alongside efforts to ensure comprehensive coverage of the communal territory with maternities and health centers. In the commercial sector, Dr. Dacoury-Tabley highlighted the commencement of construction for a new gastronomic hub featuring multiple shops. This space, he explained, is designed to showcase the culinary talents and capabilities of these women, ultimately aiming to provide them with sustainable income streams.
