With the 2025-2026 season concluded with a historic back-to-back triumph in the UEFA Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain is already turning its attention toward reshaping the squad for the upcoming campaign.

PSG capped off an unforgettable season by lifting the Champions League trophy after a dramatic final against Arsenal, decided in a 4-3 penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw. The victory marked the club’s second consecutive European crown, setting an ambitious target: to become the first team in modern football to secure three straight titles. To achieve this, club executives are actively scouting for reinforcements to complement an already star-studded lineup.

Young Russian midfielder on the brink of Paris move

Football pundits have long speculated about a potential capture, and now the deal appears all but finalized. Aleksey Batrakov, a 20-year-old attacking midfielder from Lokomotiv Moscow, is poised to join Paris Saint-Germain this summer. His agent, Dmitry Cheltsov, confirmed the imminent transfer during an interview on a Russian television program, stating: « It’s time to confirm that, at 95%, Batrakov will be joining PSG. The clubs have already held more than ten phone discussions. This week, Sporting Director Luis Campos will travel to Moscow to finalize the paperwork. Unless an unforeseen obstacle arises, this transfer is practically a done deal. The fee is set at €25 million, with an annual salary of around €5 to €6 million. »

During the 2024-2025 season, Batrakov showcased his immense potential with Lokomotiv Moscow, contributing 17 goals and 13 assists across 36 appearances in all competitions. His dynamic playstyle and technical ability align perfectly with PSG’s recruitment strategy, making him an ideal fit for a club aiming to dominate both domestically and in Europe.
