World Vision Tchad’s Ambitious 2030 Roadmap to Transform Children’s Lives
World Vision Tchad has unveiled its groundbreaking 2026-2030 national strategy, setting a bold vision to uplift the lives of 3.29 million children across the country. The integrated approach combines humanitarian aid, sustainable development, and peacebuilding initiatives to create lasting change for vulnerable communities.
N’Djamena Hosts Launch Event for Vision 2030
The strategy was formally introduced during a high-profile press conference at N’Djamena’s Résidence Hôtel, attended by media representatives, technical partners, financial backers, and government officials. World Vision Tchad’s leadership emphasized the transformative potential of this initiative, which targets 3.29 million children by 2030—including 3.09 million from the most vulnerable segments of society.
The approach centers on five key pillars: health, nutrition, education, child protection, and climate resilience. Each pillar is designed to address the interconnected challenges facing children in Chad today, where persistent poverty affects nearly 42% of the population.
Humanitarian-Nexus Approach: Bridging Emergency and Long-Term Solutions
The regional director for World Vision West Africa, Carla Dominique Denizard, described the strategy as “visionary and transformative,” highlighting its foundation in the Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus. This model ensures that emergency relief efforts seamlessly transition into sustainable development pathways, fostering peace and stability in communities.
Denizard stressed that the strategy aligns with continental and global frameworks, including the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 13, and 16). The focus remains on building human capital, enhancing social protection, and adapting to climate change while prioritizing education through the Unlock Literacy program.
« Children in Chad deserve more than survival—they deserve to thrive, » Denizard stated. « This strategy is built on robust partnerships, community engagement, and cultural sensitivity to ensure no child is left behind. »
National Director Outlines 20% Increase in Ambitions
Édouard Ngoy Wangoy, National Director of World Vision Tchad, called the launch a “historic milestone” for the organization. He noted that the new strategy represents a 20% increase in ambition compared to previous cycles, reflecting a deeper commitment to child welfare.
« Our mission is clear: to ensure every child in Chad not only survives but flourishes, » Wangoy explained. « The challenges are immense—deep-rooted poverty, malnutrition, recurring humanitarian crises, and climate shocks—but so is our determination. »
He outlined the strategy’s core priorities:
- Integrated nutrition and health programs, with a focus on maternal and child health;
- Education reform through the Unlock Literacy initiative, which strengthens early reading skills;
- Child protection systems to shield children from violence and exploitation;
- Community resilience-building to withstand climate-related shocks.
A Collective Call to Action
Following the presentation, World Vision Tchad’s leadership issued a rallying cry to national stakeholders. They urged public authorities, technical partners, civil society organizations, religious and community leaders, and media outlets to join forces in implementing this strategy.
« No single entity can address these challenges alone, » Wangoy emphasized. « Only through unified action can we turn today’s obstacles into tomorrow’s opportunities for Chad’s children. This strategy is our roadmap to a future where every child is protected, nourished, educated, and empowered. »
