The Ministry of Living Environment and Transport has officially extended the registration period for civil engineers in Bénin to join their national professional body. Professionals now have an additional 30 days to complete the mandatory registration process through the designated digital portal.
New deadline for professional registration in Bénin
This administrative decision, announced by Minister Georges Alé, aligns with the provisions of Decree No. 2021-300 of June 9, 2021, which regulates the civil engineering profession. The extension aims to provide ample time for all qualified individuals to be included in the official roll of the National Order of Civil Engineers of Bénin.

The census targets all Beninese civil engineers, whether they are currently practicing within the country or residing abroad. To be eligible for the roll, applicants must possess a design engineering degree, a professional Master’s degree recognized by the State and CAMES, or an equivalent certified qualification.
Scope of the engineering census
The registration process covers a wide array of technical specialties essential to the nation’s development, including:
- Building and public works
- Geotechnics and transport infrastructure
- Hydraulics and energy infrastructure
- Sanitation and environmental engineering
- Electronics, informatics, and telecommunications
Qualified professionals are required to submit their applications on the official platform within the new 30-day window. This measure is a vital step in the effective establishment of the first official roll of the National Order of Civil Engineers of Bénin, ensuring that the sector operates under clear regulatory standards.
