President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno of Chad has vowed to intensify efforts against the escalating threat posed by Boko Haram. In a firm statement shared on social media, he declared, « We will continue this fight with unwavering resolve until this menace is completely eradicated »—a response to the recent assault on a military outpost near Barka Tolorom, situated along Chad’s Lake Chad shoreline. The brazen attack claimed the lives of 24 soldiers, underscoring the jihadist group’s renewed operational strength.
