Borussia Dortmund are set to complete a sensational transfer for TSG Hoffenheim striker Fisnik Asllani. The 23-year-old Kosovar forward is expected to join the bundesliga giants after all terms were finalised.
Asllani, who is under contract with Hoffenheim until 2029, has a performance-related release clause. Since Borussia have qualified for the Champions League group stage in the last three seasons, that clause is now active and sets the buyout at exactly €30 million.
The youngster enjoyed a breakout campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing 10 assists in 35 competitive matches, establishing himself as one of the most coveted forwards in the German top flight.
Impact on Dortmund’s attack
The imminent arrival of Asllani is expected to trigger a reshuffle in Borussia Dortmund’s offensive line-up. Serhou Guirassy and Karim Adeyemi are among those whose futures are now under the spotlight.
Serhou Guirassy’s situation
The camp of Guirassy recently dismissed rumours of a move to Fenerbahçe, stating that no agreement has been reached and that the Guinea international is evaluating his options for the upcoming season. Dortmund’s hierarchy have reopened talks to convince the 30-year-old to extend his stay, presenting a long-term vision at Signal Iduna Park. However, the striker is likely to wait until after the World Cup before deciding his future. Since 2024, Guirassy has amassed 60 goals and 15 assists in 96 official appearances, explaining why he is so highly sought after.
Karim Adeyemi’s uncertain future
Adeyemi will enter the final year of his contract next season. If an extension is not agreed, the forward—who joined in 2022—could leave on a free transfer in summer 2027. Contract talks are reportedly intense: Adeyemi currently earns around €6.5 million per year but is demanding more than €10 million, along with a release clause. Given his inconsistent performances, Dortmund’s management appears reluctant to meet all his demands. Under coach Niko Kovac, Adeyemi has not been an undisputed starter, making 28 bundesliga appearances averaging just 42 minutes per game and scoring only four goals across all competitions in 2026.
