In a national address on August 6, 2026, Tidjane Thiam, President of the Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire – African Democratic Rally (PDCI-RDA), praised President Alassane Ouattara’s recent conciliatory gestures and called on all Ivorians to unite around shared values of hope and solidarity.
The Ivorian political leader acknowledged the steps taken by Ouattara to ease political tensions, describing them as vital steps toward strengthening national cohesion. His remarks came during a period of heightened public attention to the country’s stability and future prospects.
During the Independence Day celebrations held in Yopougon, Tidjane Thiam confirmed the PDCI-RDA’s participation in the event, emphasizing its unifying significance. “We are all Ivorians first, and the national holiday belongs to every citizen,” he stated, reinforcing the importance of collective celebration.
He also expressed unwavering confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s future, highlighting the nation’s abundant resources and dynamic population. “Our country is rich in talent, innovation, and promise.
