In the embattled Lac Province, where recent Boko Haram assaults have left communities on edge, women are stepping forward with a united front. On Friday, May 22, 2026, members of the Provincial Women’s Network gathered in Baga-Sola to voice unwavering support for the nation’s defense and security forces while urging collective resistance against the looming terrorist threat.
Strength in solidarity: Women pledge support to security forces
The delegation, led by Ms. Achta Adoum Abdoulaye, President of the Provincial Women’s Network, was received at the Baga-Sola military headquarters by General Saleh Haggar Tidjani, the Government Delegate for Lac Province. Their mission was unambiguous: to reinforce moral, logistical, and material backing for the troops battling Boko Haram in the region.
Speaking on behalf of the women of Lac Province, Ms. Achta Adoum Abdoulaye commended the tireless efforts of administrative and military authorities in safeguarding the province’s stability and curbing insecurity. She forcefully condemned the recent terrorist strikes that claimed the lives of several security personnel, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the people of Chad as a whole.
From words to action: A donation to bolster troop morale
To turn their pledge into reality, the women’s delegation presented a donation of essential food supplies to the frontline troops actively engaged in counterterrorism operations.
In response, General Saleh Haggar Tidjani praised the women’s initiative as a powerful display of patriotism. He emphasized the indispensable role of women in fostering community resilience, social cohesion, and the fight against violent extremism, underscoring their vital contribution to national security.
