On Saturday, June 27, 2026, the Malian section of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema held the national pre-selection phase for the third edition of the prestigious Hadith Nabawi Acharif memorisation competition at its headquarters in Banankabougou. Following an intense day of competition, three candidates were selected to fly the Malian flag at the grand international final, which will bring together winners from 49 countries.

This competition is part of the directives from the Higher Council of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema. The pre-selection round brought together 50 candidates from various Islamic schools and Quran memorisation centres, coming from Bamako and other regions of the country.

Through this initiative, the foundation seeks to encourage African youth to engage deeply with prophetic teachings. The primary goal is to promote the values of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, and moderation that these sacred texts convey.

The contestants competed in three categories: Category 1 (40 Hadiths – elementary level) was won by Ahmad Sow; Category 2 (30 Hadiths – intermediate level) was claimed by Mouhamad Diallo; and Category 3 (30 Hadiths – advanced level) went to Boubacar Traoré.
